Many of our fabrics are pre-washed & pre-shrunk prior to cutting and sewing! This means what you see is what you get in terms of how your fabric / garment will behave after wash. There are of course exceptions where colours will fade further with lots of wash & wear - and sometimes that's the beauty of it! In most cases though, we recommend that you gentle wash or hand wash garments & hang to dry to keep your garments in the best shape possible so that you get loads of wear from it. All garments are constructed with great care and reinforced seams when appropriate. We want your garment to last for a very long time!
Some garments (especially those constructed from vintage kimono silks) require dry-cleaning. Please use a trusted dry-cleaner that avoids extra toxic cleaners that are bad for the environment. Each garment also comes with care instructions on the care label at the inside of the garment. Reach out and ask questions if you have any doubts of how to best care for your garment.
