Tis the season for all the jingle jangle! The kickoff to that time of year where we are literally bombarded with the words BLACK FRIDAY + SALE. B O M B A R D E D!!! As a person who tries (very hard) to be a conscious consumer, I really can’t even take it. My head is spinning! How about you?
As a small business owner, I have an even harder time with the words BLACK FRIDAY but I also believe in giving my loyal clients & cheerleaders a little incentive to look in a different direction - rather than heading to the mall. I stand here, sharing with you that discounts are not built into our prices. I work hard to reduce our costs so that I can offer you a beautiful product that is ethically made, with high quality textiles - at a reasonable price. What does that mean for you? Well, quite simply it means I can’t offer you those crazy pants deals that big box retailers shove in your face, day after day.
What I can offer you is a small discount that works for both of us and the promise that the product you are purchasing is made with love and with great attention to detail. Simone's Rose X Prairie Girl Candles
Oh HELLO! We’ve been cooking up something special behind the scenes & I’m so excited to announce the release of our collaboration with our dear friend Jenn - founder and maker of Prairie Girl Candles.
It was almost a year ago to this date that I moved back to my home province of Manitoba & attended a local craft fair where I unknowingly purchased a beautiful beeswax candle from Jenn. From a sea of hand crafted goods, I immediately gravitated towards her product. A subtle, yet beautifully scented natural candle - hand poured and quality made with local Manitoba beeswax. I had yet to find myself a permanent place to live, but this candle inspired me to find some place I could call home. It was only later that weekend that I realized I knew Jenn (she wasn’t the one who sold me her candle) and I immediately knew I had to connect with her.
Lilac Citrus Grove - Floral, fresh & nostalgic
Cut to several months later, many pints of beer (and some glasses of wine) and here we are introducing our collaboration. I knew I wanted to start with a very special scent, something that reminded me of my grandmother - who’s name represents this brand. Growing up, I was always enamoured with the tiny rose shaped soaps she kept in her powder room (you know, the kind you wouldn’t dare get wet!) Jenn guided me in choosing just the right floral notes to represent those tiny rose soaps & we added some citrusy freshness to balance it out. And there you have it - Lilac Citrus Grove - Floral, fresh & nostalgic.
Cedar & Clove - Warm, cozy & spicy
I also knew I wanted to blend a scent that reminded me of cozy winter nights by the fireplace. Everyone who’s ever lived in a cold climate knows that gorgeous scent of warm cedar and pine. It is comforting and also nostalgic. We crafted just the right balance of warm and cozy and added some spice like nutmeg and clove. The result is a subtle, woodsy scent with a side of chai - Cedar & Clove.
We’re starting off our mini-collection with these two lovely scents and we hope you’ll get to explore and enjoy them! They are available in small 2oz travel friendly tins - perfect for the holidays when you want to feel at home, away from home or for gifting. They can be purchased individually or as a pair and always come in a handmade linen pouch, crafted from our production off-cuts and finished with a pretty satin ribbon. As the summer season starts to wind down, we are feeling a time for change & renewal here at Simone’s Rose. It’s an opportunity to take a look at some of our Signature collection styles & give them a little makeover with updated details or maybe even lay them to rest. We’ve rounded up some of these styles in a new LAST CALL section in our shop. You’ll find some of these pieces are our last in stock and are also in our updated SALE section! We’ll be keeping LAST CALL items around until the end of August-ish or until they sell out and after that, they’ll be gone - making way for other styles or fresh updates. We know some of these are popular favourites so now’s your chance if you’ve been coveting them!

Make way for our NEW sizing chart!
For the past few months we’ve been working on an update to our sizing chart and we are so excited to finally include size 3XL in our standard size range. We have also decided to keep Custom Sizing as an option as we know that all bodies are unique and we don’t all fit perfectly into a size chart. We want to be as body inclusive as possible and to us, that means being able to accommodate for all body types by cutting garments to your measurements when that is what is required. When possible, we will also include the option of Petite, Regular or Tall for length options. We know we have a lot of work to do to be more inclusive but we are always here to listen and take on changes when it’s possible, so if you have any hesitation or questions due to sizing, etc - please do reach out and contact us with your concerns!
A note on updated sizing….
All styles going forward will be cut to reflect our new sizing. You may find a few changes compared to our previous sizing chart so we suggest double checking your measurements against our NEW sizing chart. Sale items that are LAST IN STOCK reflect our previous sizing - the corresponding size chart is included in each listing for reference. Still not sure? Saturday, June 22nd we’ll be joining a crew of vintage, thrifted and eco-friendly vendors at the Bronx park community centre from 9am - 2pm. There will be a farmer’s market outside as well so we suggest you set your alarm clock, grab your re-usable shopping bags and come down for a day of joyous shopping.

We are so excited to finally launch Joella, our new “go to” piece, available in a combination of 5 different fabrics / colours. Available in all natural fibres like linens, organic cotton & an organic cotton, hemp blend - we think you’ll love this piece to wear from work to play on beautiful spring and summer days. Joella is ethically crafted in our designer studio (in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Canada) and designed with sustainability in mind.
Joella is available in blouse length in all available colours. We’ve also created a tunic length option - available in our Soft Rust & Natural organic cotton / hemp & in our Crisp White organic cotton crepe.
